Kiss Beauty is a braiding and protective-styling studio in Oldbury. This page explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate. If anything here is unclear, ask us — the contact details are at the bottom.
Who is responsible for your information

What we collect
Only what you type into a form on this site. There is no account to create and nothing is gathered in the background.

Why we hold it
- To arrange your appointment — to confirm the booking, agree a time, quote a price and contact you if something changes.
- To send studio updates — only if you joined the VIP list or ticked the marketing box when booking, and only until you ask us to stop.
- To keep the site working — server logs help us spot faults and abuse.
The lawful bases we rely on are legitimate interests for running the studio and responding to enquiries, contract once an appointment is agreed, and consent for the VIP list.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. We do not profile visitors and we have no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address in order to serve them. That is the only third-party request an ordinary visit makes.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf so the site can function:

How the booking diary works
The booking form shows you which appointment times are still available, and records your request so the slot is held. Both happen inside our own booking system, KissCalendar, which runs on our own database.
No third-party calendar is involved. You are not asked to connect any account, and your booking request is not sent to Google, Apple, or any other calendar service.
When the form asks which times are free, it receives only start and end times — no names, no contact details, no prices. The page you are looking at never learns who else is booked in.
Your request is stored in the diary as a pending appointment and emailed to the studio. The studio then confirms the time with you.
The salon owner subscribes to a private feed of the diary so appointments appear on their phone. That feed is protected by a long random key, carries the studio's own bookings, and is read-only.
Marketing emails
Booking with us is not permission to market to you. We only send offers and studio news to people who asked for them — by joining the VIP list, or by ticking the box on the booking form. The box is never pre-ticked.
We record the date you gave permission, so we can show when and how it was given. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click, with no login and no questions. You can also simply ask us.
Unsubscribing stops the marketing only. You will still receive messages about appointments you have actually booked — confirmations and changes — because those are part of the service you asked for.
How long we keep it
- Booking messages — kept while you are a client and for up to two years after your last appointment, so we can look up what was done before.
- VIP list — until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.
- Server logs — short-term only, as set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop using it for a particular purpose, including marketing;
- provide it in a portable form.
Just ask — email or phone is fine, and we will action it within one month at no charge. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over HTTPS and our providers are chosen for their security practices. Booking messages arrive in an email account protected by a strong password and two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we take looking after your details seriously.
Children
We do not knowingly collect information from under-16s through this site. A parent or guardian should make the booking.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
